NHL Rumors: Oilers Goalie Finished In Edmonton

Although the Battle of Alberta is going on, some news about Mikko Koskinen's future with the Edmonton Oilers has come to light. According to Bob Hartley, the 33-year-old goaltender has signed a deal with HC Lugano of the Swiss National League for the 2022-23 campaign.
The 2021-22 season was a year of mixed results from Koskinen with the Oilers. In 45 appearances, he had a solid 27-12-4 record but also sported a .903 SV% and 3.10 GAA. Thus, he did receive criticism from fans for inconsistent play at times. Yet, if this report holds true, Edmonton will now officially be on the market for a new goalie this summer.

In 168 career games between the Islanders and Oilers, Koskinen has an 83-59-13 record, .907 SV%, and 2.98 GAA.
