NHL Rumors: Blackhawks Set Asking Price For Alex DeBrincat

Alex DeBrincat is arguably the biggest name in the rumor mill right now. Due to this, acquiring him will cost a lot. According to Pierre LeBrun, the Chicago Blackhawks are expecting high draft picks, top prospects, and a young player for the star winger.

The Blackhawks do not need to trade DeBrincat, as he will still be a restricted free agent when his contract expires after next season. In fact, there are plenty of reasons why one could argue that Chicago should hold on to him for their rebuild. Yet, if a team is willing to reach this massive asking price, we very well could see the Blackhawks pull the trigger on such a move. Keep in mind, they already gave up another young winger in Brandon Hagel for the right price.

Alas, it will be interesting to see if DeBrincat ends up being traded this offseason. Do you think the Blackhawks should trade him for that asking price? Let us know in the comments.
