NHL Rumors: James Neal Opens Up About Playing Future

The 2021-22 season was a very rough one for James Neal, as he had four points in 18 games for the St. Louis Blues before being sent down to the AHL. Yet, even with this being so, the 34-year-old is still planning to play next season.

When looking at Neal's production with the Springfield Thunderbirds, there could be an NHL team willing to give him another chance next season. In 28 regular-season games with the AHL squad, he scored 14 goals and recorded 26 points. He also has five points in five playoffs game, too.

On a league-minimum contract, Neal could be a player worth taking a gamble on. In 869 career games between the Stars, Penguins, Predators, Golden Knights, Flames, Oilers, and Blues, he has 296 goals, 263 assists, and 559 points. Let's see if he has the opportunity to build on these career numbers next year.
