NHL Rumors: Jets Forward Plans To Test Unrestricted Free Agency

According to Elliotte Friedman, Pierre-Luc Dubois informed the Winnipeg Jets that he plans to test the market when he's eligible for unrestricted free agency in 2024.

Friedman also noted that the Jets are still going to try to sign Dubois to a long-term extension. Yet, with PLD making his future intentions clear, it seems more than likely that a short-term contract is set to come next.

This is certainly not the news that the Jets wanted to hear from Dubois. Things are already hectic enough in Winnipeg. Perhaps if the Jets put together a strong 2022-23 campaign, Dubois will be more open to the idea of sticking around for many years to come. Time will tell on that front.
