NHL Rumors: Rangers Forward Wants To Stay Put

While speaking with reporters, pending UFA Frank Vatrano said that he wants to stay with the New York Rangers.

The Rangers have several players with expiring contracts, so it isn't a guarantee that they will be bringing back Vatrano. However, if the 28-year-old has it his way, he will remain a Blueshirt for at least the 2022-23 campaign.

Vatrano was an excellent rental for the Rangers, so it's likely GM Chris Drury will want to keep him around if possible. In 22 regular-season games following the move, he had eight goals and 13 points. He also recorded 13 points in 20 postseason contests. Overall, he was a good secondary scorer and exceeded initial expectations.

Alas, let's see if Vatrano gets his wish and stays with the Rangers from here.
