NHL Rumors: "Strong Possibility" Kadri Plays in Game 4

The Colorado Avalanche have been patient about Nazem Kadri's recovery from thumb surgery, and fared pretty well without him, at least through the first two games of the Stanley Cup Final. Word today, as we get set for Game 4 in Tampa tonight, is that Kadri's return could be imminent:

NHL Insider Darren Dreger says that "Indications are there is a high probability Nazem Kadri plays in game 4." And that is further confirmed by fellow Insider Chris Johnston.

Kadri had surgery on his thumb just two weeks ago, after slamming into the boards on a hit from behind by Edmonton Oilers' Evander Kane. But he was seen ramping up his practice on Tuesday, and Johnston said at that time, "there appears to be a slight break in the clouds on the horizon."

Yesterday, Avs coach David Bednar would only offer, “He seems to be getting better every day,” said Bednar. “I believe that he is an option for us at some point here. I’m not sure how soon.”

Reports today seem to indicate that that point just might arrive tonight.
