Video: Avalanche’s Andre Burakovsky Scores Game 1 OT Winner

Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final did not fail to entertain. After being down 3-1 to the Avalanche in the first period, the Lightning tied the game up and forced overtime. Yet, they could not complete their comeback, as Andre Burakovsky scored the game-winner in overtime after receiving a perfect feed from Valeri Nichuskin.

Every fan knows the importance of winning Game 1, but this is especially the case in the Stanley Cup Final. Now, the Avalanche have the chance to take a 2-0 series lead while at home. That is far better than playing down.

With this game-winner, Burakovsky now has two goals and four assists in 11 postseason games. Although his production this postseason hasn't been as high as expected, a goal like this one makes up for it. Congrats to Andre for being the OT hero in Game 1. Now let's see how the reigning back-to-back champs respond to this loss in Game 2.
