Avalanche Sign Veteran Defenseman

The Avalanche have signed defenseman Brad Hunt to a two-year deal worth $762.5K annually.

The thirty-three year old veteran played 50 games for the Canucks this past season, scoring three goals and 14 assists for 17 total points. He finished with a plus/minus rating of minus three.

Hunt will likely play as a third-line defenseman or even the seventh defenseman. He won't do much at this point in his career, other than provide some depth.

The Colorado Avalanche currently sit with $3,910,000 in projected cap space. The reigning Stanley Cup Champions have lost players Nicolas Aube-Kubel, Andre Burakovsky, Nico Sturm, and Darcy Kuemper to free agency thus far.

The team has added players Andreas Englund, Charles Hudon, Josh Jacobs, Jonas Johansson, and Spencer Smallman.
