Canucks Sign Solid Defensive Forward
The Vancouver Canucks have signed forward Ilya Mikheyev to a four-year, $4.75 million annually.

Mikheyev is coming off the best season of his young NHL career, posting 21 goals, 11 assists and 32 total points in 53 games. In seven playoff games, he scored two goals and two assists.
The deal is a bit pricey for such a small sample size, but the twenty-seven year old has improving offensive abilities to go along with his fantastic defensive minded game. He's a very solid middle six option for the Canucks.
