Capitals Sign Goaltender

The Capitals have signed goaltender Darcy Kuemper to a five-year deal worth $5.25 million annually.

Kuemper is fresh off a Stanley Cup win with the Colorado Avalanche, and a 2021-22 season where he posted a 37-12 record, .921 save percentage and 2.54 goals against average. In 16 playoff games, the thirty-two year old had a 10-3 record with a .902 save percentage and 2.57 goals against average.

The Capitals bring in Kuemper after losing their other two goalies this offseason, in Ilya Samsonov and Vitek Vanecek.
