Flyers & Hurricanes Complete Trade

It's official - the Flyers have acquired Tony DeAngelo from the Hurricanes in exchange for the 101st overall pick, a 2023 third-round pick, and a 2024 second-round pick. With that, they also have signed him to a two-year extension, $10 million extension.

Rumors that DeAngelo heading to the Flyers was heating up, so this move was not particularly surprising. This move certainly shows that Philadelphia is not open to rebuilding and is hoping to get back to being competitive in 2022-23.

DeAngelo will provide the Flyers with a very good offensive defenseman on the right side. In 64 games this season with Carolina, he scored 10 goals and recorded 51 points. With that, he also recorded 10 points in 14 playoff games.

Nevertheless, the Flyers have made their first big move of the offseason. Let's see what's next in store for the club.
