Jets Sign Defenseman

The Jets have signed Kyle Capobianco to a two-year contract. He will carry a $762,500 cap hit at the NHL level.

Capobianco has made appearances at the NHL level in each of the last five seasons with the Coyotes. Yet, over that span, he played in just 59 games with the club, where he had three goals and 10 points. With the Jets, he will be hoping to receive more playing time.

At worst, the Jets have added more depth to their blue line with this move. However, Capobianco has put together some very strong AHL seasons, so one has to wonder if that can translate over to the NHL from here. Alas, time will tell on that front.
