NHL Rumors: 3 Montreal Canadiens Being Shopped at NHL Draft

The Montreal Canadiens are keeping their cards close to their chest as the NHL entry draft is coming up next weekend. While the team is enjoying having everyone guessing their next move in what should be a historic night for the franchise, their management group has been very open to other teams on just who is available via trade from their roster.

Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports the team has made Christian Dvorak, Jeff Petry and potentially Josh Anderson available on the trade market. Petry has been shopped for almost a full season now, while Dvorak and Anderson are newer entries to the available list as the Canadiens are trying to build around Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield.

Other than that, while waiting for clarity on Carey Price’s future, the Canadiens will continue to test the market on some of their veterans: Christian Dvorak, Jeff Petry and possibly Josh Anderson. There are teams who believe they don’t want to move Jake Allen. The Canadiens wish to be more competitive, so they’re not going to strip it bare. I’d be very curious to see what it would take to get Anderson. Prior to the deadline, there were some conversations between the Senators and Canadiens on Colin White. We’ll see how things unfold, but it’s not impossible to see White beginning anew in Montreal. GM Kent Hughes was his agent.

Keep an eye on the Habs as they have a ton of pressure on them to hit the jackpot at the Montreal based draft. The team has a ton of question marks still hanging in the balance and are hopeful by next weekend, they will have a great idea of just what's going on with some of their players. Expect the unexpected from the Canadiens, the draft could be one for the ages.
