NHL Rumors: Blackhawks Hoping To Move Defenseman

The Blackhawks completely blew things up on Thursday. They traded away both Alex DeBrincat and Kirby Dach. Yet, they may not be done making moves just yet. According to Bruce Garrioch, the Blackhawks would like to trade Seth Jones because the direction of the team has changed.

Moving Jones won't be easy, though. The 27-year-old would need to approve any move, as he has a full no-movement clause. With that, he is just about to begin his eight-year, $76 million extension, so any team willing to take him on would need to have full faith in him and that monstrous contract.

Jones' 2021-22 season was solid in terms of offensive production. In 78 games, he scored five goals and recorded 51 points. Yet, questions about his defensive reliability came up, as his minus-37 rating shows well.

It will be intriguing to see if Chicago can find Jones a new home before the summer is out. With the Blackhawks rebuilding, it wouldn't be shocking to see Jones being open to a change of scenery.
