NHL Rumors: Phil Kessel Linked to 3 Teams

Iron man Phil Kessel is looking to play next season as the 34-year-old winger hits the open market this summer. Kessel's iron man streak is very important to him, but don't believe all the hype about him not wanting to sign if there's a chance he'll be scratched.

Kessel is still a very effective player and was given a ton of praise in Arizona for how he handled his relationship with the young players. While Kessel appears to be moving on from the desert, look for the offensive-gifted winger to sign with one of three teams. The Tampa Bay Lightning, Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators have all been linked to various degrees to Kessel, with the Dallas Stars also an honorable mention at this point.

Last season Kessel finished with 52 points in 82 games and has 81 career points in 96 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, including two Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Kessel loves to fish and golf so expect to see him sign in a warmer climate to carry on some passions off the ice this winter. And yes, he also wants to win and is likely only interested in signing with playoff-bound teams.
