Sharks Defenseman Provides Update On Injury

While speaking with Curtis Pashelka, Sharks defenseman Markus Nutivaara said that he expects to be fully healthy once training camp rolls around.

Nutivaara recently signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Sharks. That's not a bad contract at all for a defenseman who only played one game in 2021-22. Unfortunately, he sustained a hip injury that needed surgery. Naturally, he is still recovering from it, but he has made notable progress if he expects to be ready to go for training camp.

Nutivaara has the potential to be an important part of San Jose's blueline. When healthy, he has shown that he can produce fairly well offensively. In 275 career games, he has 17 goals, 54 assists, and 71 points.
