Sharks & Predators Complete Trade

The Predators have officially traded Luke Kunin to the Sharks in exchange for John Leonard and a 2023 third-round pick.

We recently discussed how the Predators and Sharks were having trade talks centering around Kunin, so this move was expected. Now, Kunin is officially heading to San Jose and will be pushing for a spot in their top six. However, he will need to bounce back to successfully land this role, as he had just 22 points in 82 games last season.

Leonard is a 23-year-old winger who is trying to cement himself as a full-time NHL player. In 58 games with the Sharks over the last two seasons, he has four goals and 15 points. It will be intriguing to see if he can make the Predators' roster at the start of the season.

Yet, Kunin is the bigger name in this trade, so eyes will be more on him. Let's see how he performs as a Shark from here.
