Top 3 Remaining Free Agents Under Age 35

The free agency signing frenzy has slowed considerably in the past several days, but that doesn't mean that there still aren't a couple of big names on the market.

Several of those still unsigned are older players, age 36 and up, and a couple of them, like Patrice Bergeron and the returning David Krejci will likely just re-sign with Boston.

But as noted by NHL Insider Chris Johnston, there are still some big names with fresher legs out on the market; here are the Top 3 Under-35 UFAs still available:

1. Nazem Kadri

After posting the best season of his 10-year NHL career, and hoisting the Stanley Cup, the 31-year-old Kadri's value has never been higher. However, as Johnston notes, many of the other teams looking for an impact center have already filled their needs, so a return to Colorado seems more and more likely the longer this drags out.

2. John Klingberg

The longtime Dallas Stars defenseman at one time was looking at a 7-year contract. But as Johnston opines, the 29-year-old eight-year veteran Klingberg has fewer and fewer suitors on the market right now, especially after the Carolina Hurricanes traded for Brent Burns. Now a return to Dallas just might be in the... Stars.

3. Nino Niederreiter

The 29-year-old Hurricanes left-winger potted 24 goals this past season, with a career-high 16.7 shooting percentage. Although his cap hit last season was $5.25M, the 'Canes are still in need of some scoring, and so, like the others on this list, it wouldn't be surprising to see Niederreiter return to his current team.
