Calgary Flames Re-Sign Forward Prospect

The Calgary Flames have signed Martin Pospisil to a one-year, two-way contract. At the NHL level, he will carry a $750,000 cap hit.

Pospisil was selected by the Flames with the 105th overall pick of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-1 center just completed his third season with the Stockton Heat, and it was his best year to date. In 47 games, he set new career-highs with seven goals, 18 assists, and 25 points.

Pospisil is more known for his immensely physical style of play, however. In his 47 games this past season, he recorded a hopping 95 penalty minutes due to his tenacity. It will be intriguing to see if this aspect of his game allows him to get some time at the NHL level next season.
