Arizona Coyotes Re-Sign Forward

The Arizona Coyotes have re-signed Barrett Hayton to a two-year, $3.55 million contract.

Hayton appeared in 60 games with the Coyotes last season, where he set new career-highs with 10 goals, 14 assists, and 24 points. It certainly was a promising season from the 2018 first-round pick, and he will be aiming to continue heading in the right direction in 2022-23.

Hayton has yet to develop into the top-six center that Arizona hoped he will when they surprisingly took him fifth overall. As a result, it makes sense that they have opted to sign him to this bridge deal instead of inking him long-term. It will be intriguing to see how the Peterborough native performs this campaign.

In 94 career NHL games, Hayton has 13 goals, 18 assists, and 31 points.
