Boston Bruins Sign Veteran Defenseman to PTO

According to Pierre LeBrun, Anton Stralman is "headed to" the Boston Bruins on a PTO.

Bruins GM Don Sweeney noted earlier this week that the Bruins were considering signing someone to a PTO, but he did not specify that said player nor his position. Now, we know who that player is, and it's a pretty solid one in Stralman.

The Bruins are entering this upcoming season with Charlie McAvoy and Matt Grzelcyk out on defense. With that, Mike Reilly and Jakub Zboril are recovering from separate injuries and are questionable for the start of the season. Therefore, bringing in another defenseman like Stralman on a tryout is a wise move by Sweeney.

In 74 games this past season with the Arizona Coyotes, Stralman had eight goals to go along with 23 points. Truthfully, with numbers like these, he would be an upgrade over Connor Clifton on the team's bottom-pairing, if he makes the club. We will need to wait and see if he does enough to earn himself a deal.
