Calgary Flames Sign Forward to PTO

The Calgary Flames have signed Sonny Milano to a professional tryout contract.

After the season Milano just had, it is surprising to see him have to settle for a PTO. Although he cooled off during the final stages of last season, he still had 14 goals and 34 points in 66 games with the Anaheim Ducks. With numbers like these, it is clear that he can be a decent third-line winger. He will be aiming to earn himself a contract with the Flames and earn that role because of it.

Honestly, this is another good decision from GM Brad Treliving. This has the potential to be another solid move if Milano ends up impressing at camp and getting signed. There is a third-line left wing spot available to fight for, so let's see if Milano gets the job. At worst, he will be released, and it will not cost Calgary a thing. Thus, there's no harm in this transaction.
