NHL Rumors: Flyers Players Expecting Changes in Philadelphia

According to a source with the Philadelphia Flyers, there's belief in the dressing room, if things don't go as planned early on to start the 2022-23 season, management is going to unload some of their veteran core.

We saw it first hand with Claude Giroux being moved to the Florida Panthers last season, however the team brought in a new head coach in John Tortorella so you'd think he'd get a crack at trying to bunch together some wins with the current team. Sounds like the leash is very short for the Flyers this season.

Some trade candidates who have emerged this summer include forward Travis Konecny, James van Riemsdyk, and Kevin Hayes. JVR is a pending unrestricted free agent so he's certainly a prime trade chip, meanwhile Hayes and Konecny are signed long term.

Last season the Flyers finished dead last in the Metropolitan division with a record of 25-46-11. Management feels Torts is the answer to motivate the group and get their team back on track. Unfortunately, with too many inconsistencies expected throughout the lineup, it could be time for a major overhaul in Philly. Should the Flyers tank for Connor Bedard?
