NHL Rumors: Washington Capitals Expressed Interest In Winger

According to Bob Stauffer, the Washington Capitals are one of the teams who have inquired about Jake Virtanen.

Virtanen has been linked to teams like the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames as a PTO candidate, but he has yet to ink a deal at the time of this writing. Now, it appears that Washington has at least expressed interest in the 2014 first-round pick as well.

Virtanen was recently found not guilty of the sexual assault allegations that were made against him, so the 26-year-old is now aiming to make a return to the NHL. It appears that Washington has at least considered the idea of bringing him in on a PTO, so this is something that we should pay attention to with training camp just about here.
