Philadelphia Flyers Sign Forward to PTO

Artem Anisimov is beginning an NHL comeback attempt, as he has signed a professional tryout contract with the Philadelphia Flyers.

Anisimov tried out for the Colorado Avalanche last season, but he, unfortunately, did not make the final cut. As a result of this, he spent the 2021-22 season with Yaroslavl Lokomotiv, where he had 19 points in 27 contests. Overall, he did fairly well back home in Russia, and now he will be aiming to translate that to the Flyers’ training camp.

Anisimov last played in the NHL with the Ottawa Senators during the 2020-21 campaign. In 19 games, he had two goals and seven assists.

When looking at the Flyers’ roster, Anisimov does have a shot at making the team. This is especially true when noting that it was just announced that Sean Couturier could miss the entirety of the 2022-23 season due to a herniated disc in his back. Anisimov will need to have a good camp, though, for that to have any chance of coming to fruition. We will need to see if he can earn himself a contract from here.

Do you think Anisimov will make the Flyers' roster? Let us know in the comments.
