Detroit Red Wings Defenseman Out Indefinitely

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Robert Hagg will be out indefinitely after taking a puck to the head during a scrimmage earlier this week. The 27-year-old could miss the beginning of the season because of it.

Hagg is one of the Red Wings' many new additions heading into 2022-23, but their fans now may have to wait a bit before seeing him in action. The 6-foot-2 defenseman is expected to be utilized as a depth player for Detroit this season once he is healthy.

Hagg spent this past season with the Buffalo Sabres and Florida Panthers. In 64 contests between the two clubs, he had a goal and nine points. Although he is not a dominant player offensively, his solid defensive play and physicality make him valuable to have. Here's to hoping that the 300-game veteran can return to the ice soon, but given the fact that this is a head injury, it's hard to predict if so.
