San Jose Sharks Goaltender Happy to Be Staying Put

Throughout the offseason, San Jose Sharks goaltender James Reimer was talked about often in the rumor mill. The Sharks were listening to offers for the veteran netminder, but they opted to trade Adin Hill instead. While speaking with Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now, Reimer noted that he's very happy to be staying with San Jose.

Peng noted that the Sharks' asking price for Reimer was too high for teams to match, which is why the 34-year-old will be remaining in San Jose for the start of the season. Ultimately, that isn't a bad thing, as he is their top goaltender and will do his best to allow them to be competitive.

In 48 games this past season, Reimer had a 19-17-10 record to go along with a .911 SV%. Overall, it was a good season for him, and he will now be aiming to replicate that in 2022-23.
