Blue Jackets Defenseman Leaves Game Early

During Sunday's contest against the New York Rangers, Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Nick Blankenburg left the game early due to an injury.

Blankenburg got into a scary collision during the game, and his left arm seemed to be injured because of it. Although he stayed in the game for a bit after it, the 24-year-old would decide to leave in the second period.

This is tough news for Blankenburg, as the Michigan native is currently trying to cement himself a permanent role in Columbus' defensive group. He's been off to a solid start to the season, too, as he has a goal and an assist in four games. Both he and the team will be hoping that this is a minor injury and that he will be able to return shortly.
