Florida Panthers Call Up Forward

The Florida Panthers have called up Zac Dalpe from the Charlotte Checkers.

This is a pretty intriguing development, as Dalpe was just placed on waivers earlier this week. However, he is now heading right back to Florida to finish the preseason in the NHL. Perhaps if he impresses, he could start the year as an extra forward for them. If not, he can be sent down to the AHL without having to go through waivers again. 

Dalpe had a solid season with the Checkers last season. Although he only recorded nine assists in 68 games for the AHL squad, he scored an impressive 30 goals with it. He also suited up in one game for the Panthers, where he sported a minus-1 rating.
