Kraken Goalie Placed on Injured Reserve

The Seattle Kraken have placed goaltender Philipp Grubauer on injured reserve.

This IR placement isn't particularly surprising, as the Kraken called up Joey Daccord to the NHL roster just a few days ago due to Grubauer's injury. Yet, this move means that Grubauer will be out for at least a week, while Martin Jones and Daccord will be trying to pick up the slack.

After a disastrous 2021-22 season with the Kraken, Grubauer has struggled yet again so far this campaign. In four games, he has a 0-1-1 record, .860 SV%, and 3.77 GAA. This is certainly far less than what Seattle expects from him, but especially so when noting that he has a $5.9 million cap hit until the end of the 2026-27 season. Here's to hoping he has a speedy recovery and finds his old form immediately from there.
