Minnesota Wild Forward Blasts Team in NSFW Rant

The Minnesota Wild are off to a brutal start to the 2022-23 season and forward Mats Zuccarello has a feeling he knows why. The Wild veteran didn't mince words when asked about his team's performance following a 7-3 loss to the New York Rangers and a 7-6 loss to the Los Angeles Kings.

Zuccarello spoke with Michael Russo of The Athletic and had this to say:

You can't expect to win games when you let in 14 goals in two games. Sometimes we play defense like we're a fucking junior team. It's the whole team. We've got to sharpen up

While their defense obviously hasn't been great, neither have their goaltending as Marc-Andre Fleury isn't shying away from the boos he's heard to start this season:

I don't blame them. I'd boo myself. I was not good. I feel bad for the fans. I feel bad for my teammates. I've got to step up. I've got to be better. So fucking stupid. I think I was just looking to see what was coming - I knew he was far away - to see where guys were at, and then I looked back at the shot, and it was already in. Just stupid, stupid.

Seems like anything that could go wrong, has gone wrong for the Wild to start the 2022-23 season. They have no cap space to work with and will need to find answers internally.
