NHL Rumors: Blue Jackets Out on Coyotes Defenseman

According to Aaron Portzline, the Columbus Blue Jackets have "soured" on Arizona Coyotes defenseman Jakob Chychrun.

The Blue Jackets have been one of the many teams linked to Chychrun, but it appears that they possess a different opinion on the top-pairing defenseman. Chychrun's injury trouble is the most likely reason behind this, as he recently suffered a setback; thus pushing back his eventual return.

The Blue Jackets are also off to a very slow start this season, so that also could be making them a bit more conservative when it comes to potential trades. A 3-6-0 start to the season is bad enough but especially more so when remembering that they have the least points in the Eastern Conference. Thus, they are not in a position to part ways with the guaranteed first-round pick that the Coyotes want for Chychrun.

Nevertheless, the Chychrun sweepstakes is now one team smaller. Let's see if more teams become cautious with the star d-man.
