NHL Rumors: Sharks Shopping Forward

The San Jose Sharks are open for business and are listening to offers for all of their players besides Tomas Hertl. One player who they are surely looking to get rid of because of this is Kevin Labanc.

After having just six points in 21 games last season with San Jose, Labanc is off to a slow start this year, recording two points in 10 games. Although the 26-year-old is struggling there is beliefthe  that he could turn things around as the year continues. Keep in mind, this is a player who had 28 points in 55 games in 2020-21 and also had 56 points in 82 games in 2018-19. Therefore, due to his past success, teams looking for some help in their middle six could express interest in him. This is especially true if he can turn things around.

A change of scenery may be exactly what Labanc needs to get everything back on track. However, if a trade does come to fruition, the Sharks will likely need to retain some of his $4.725 million cap hit until the end of the 2023-24 season.
