Promising Update on Penguins' Jake Guentzel

Pittsburgh Penguins star Jake Guentzel left Thursday's game early due to an undisclosed injury. Given his importance to the team, there's natural concern, but we now have been given a positive update regarding his condition. Head coach Mike Sullivan noted that Guentzel is still being evaluated, but he also is traveling with the team for their upcoming road trip.

The Penguins' road trip consists of five contests, so it seems possible that we could see Guentzel play at some point during it. Had that not been the case, there would be no reason for him to travel. This is especially true when noting that they are hitting the Pacific Northwest after their Saturday night tilt against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Guentzel has been remarkably consistent to start off this season, as he has three goals and two assists in four games played. Here's to hoping he has the chance to improve on these numbers very shortly.
