Sabres Defenseman Leaves Game Injured

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Mattias Samuelsson left Saturday's game against the Vancouver Canucks early due to a knee injury.

Samuelsson, who just inked a shocking seven-year, $30 million contract extension with Buffalo, has zero points and a plus-6 rating in five games this season. The 23-year-old is viewed as an important long-term part of their blueline, so they will be hoping that he does not have to miss too much time from here.

Lance Lysowski reported that the Sabres "got good news" regarding Samuelsson's injury and that he has "avoided the worst." More details about a specific recovery time have not been revealed, but at least things are not as bad as they could have been. Keep an eye out for more info on Samuelsson's injury from here.
