Blue Jackets Rumors: Columbus Making Trade Offers

The Columbus Blue Jackets sit with a 3-7-0 record on the season and have started slow thanks to some early injury troubles, including to sniper Patrik Laine. The Blue Jackets could use some more help up front and it sounds like this could be something that's top of mind for management.

Hockey insider Elliotte Friedman wonders if the team would be interested in acquiring some center help down the middle:

Nothing imminent or anything like that, but I’ve wondered if Columbus would look for some help at centre until their good young players are fully ready for this. Blue Jackets management had “if looks could kill” faces after the 7-1 loss to New Jersey on Sunday.

The Blue Jackets don't have a true number one center to play between Laine and Johnny Gaudreau. With a newfound win-now attitude Columbus could package some of their surplus draft picks along with a top prospect to land some serious talent up front.

Look for the team to circle the San Jose Sharks and see what the availability of Logan Couture is, as the Sharks reportedly only consider Tomas Hertl untouchable.
