Boston Bruins Defenseman Placed On Waivers

The Boston Bruins have placed Anton Stralman on waivers.

With Derek Forbort getting closer to returning, the Bruins need to free up cap space to activate him off of LTIR. Players like Mike Reilly and Craig Smith have emerged as possible trade candidates because of this, but, the Bruins are shedding some salary by placing Stralman on waivers for now.

Should Stralman clear, he will be sent down to the Providence Bruins. However, it does seem possible that another team looking to beef up their defensive group could give him a chance. The 36-year-old comes with over 900 games of experience and just had a 23-point campaign in 74 games with the Arizona Coyotes last season. Yet, even if claimed, the Bruins will still need to free up more money to activate Forbort.

Alas, we will have to wait and see what happens with Stralman from here. In eight games this season, he has zero points and a minus-3 rating.
