Buffalo Sabres Send Down Forward to AHL

The Buffalo Sabres have sent down Riley Sheahan to the Rochester Americans.

A demotion of some kind was expected to be made by the Sabres, as defenseman Mattias Samuelsson is set to return to the lineup. Now, we have clarity as to which player is heading to Rochester.

Sheahan was recently called up to the Sabres after beginning the season with the Americans. In two games with the Sabres on the year, the 12-year veteran has zero points to go along with a minus-2 rating. With the Americans, on the other hand, he has recorded three points in six games.

Although Sheahan has been demoted, we are very likely going to see him called up again before the end of the season. The 30-year-old is the Sabres' primary call-up when injuries arise, so we should him see back in Buffalo in the near future.
