Detroit Red Wings Winger Injured

Detroit Red Wings forward Filip Zadina has suffered a lower-body injury. Head coach Derek Lalonde noted that the update on Zadina is "not good" and that he doesn't think "we'll see him for a while."

This is awful news for a young player who is trying to cement himself as a full-time NHL player and reach his full potential. The 2018 sixth-overall pick has been off to a rocky start in 2022-23, as he has zero points to go along with a minus-3 rating. Now, based on Lalonde's comments, he is likely going to be out long-term.

Alas, here's to hoping that Zadina has a speedy recovery and can return to the lineup soon.
