Florida Panthers Forward Placed on Waivers

The Florida Panthers have placed Rudolfs Balcers on waivers.

This move was made because the Panthers need to clear up cap space in order to activate star defenseman Aaron Ekblad off injured reserve. As a result, the 25-year-old winger has hit the waiver wire, and there very well could be interest in him from here.

In 14 games this season so far, Balcers has two goals and two assists. However, he is also coming off of a 23-point campaign in 61 games with the San Jose Sharks last season, so it's apparent that he has some offensive upside. With that, he only carries a $750,000 for the season, so he would be quite easy for most teams to afford.

Nevertheless, we will have to wait and see what happens with Balcers from here. Teams dealing with injury trouble on offense could surely claim him. Alas, we will find out on Saturday (Nov. 12).
