Maple Leafs Switch Up Roster

The Toronto Maple Leafs are switching things up after a rough 4-3 overtime loss to the Anaheim Ducks. As a result, Pontus Holmberg has been called up to the NHL roster, while Wayne Simmonds has been sent back down to the Toronto Marlies.

Assuming Holmberg gets into action for the Leafs during this call-up, he is set to make his NHL debut. He's an interesting player to watch, as he just had a 41-point campaign in 46 games with Vaxjo HC of the SHL last season. Therefore, he has offensive potential. Yet, he has been a little bit quiet with the Marlies this season, as he has two assists in seven games. He will now be aiming to heat up with the Maple Leafs from here.

Simmonds has played in three games with the Maple Leafs since being called up, where he has an assist and an even rating. However, with Toronto desperately trying to turn things around, Simmonds, unfortunately, is now heading back to the AHL.
