NHL Rumors: Buffalo Sabres Forward Becoming Trade Candidate

After a hot start to the 2022-23 season, the Buffalo Sabres have fallen back to Earth and now sport a 9-11-0 record. As a result, it seems apparent that they will be sellers at the deadline, and pending UFA Zemgus Girgensons could be on the move because of it.

Since being drafted 14th overall in 2012 by the Sabres, Girgensons has appeared in 564 career games as Sabre, where he has 74 goals and 161 points. Overall, the 28-year-old forward has been off to a decent start in a bottom-six role with Buffalo this season as well, as he has three goals and five points.

Teams in need of some help in their bottom six should certainly be calling the Sabres about Girgensons. He has the potential to be a solid addition to a contender's penalty kill as well, so we will have to wait and see if the veteran ends up being on the move from here.
