NHL Rumors: Flyers Forward Becoming Trade Candidate

The Philadelphia Flyers have lost 10 straight games and have fallen to a disastrous 7-10-5 record because of it. As a result, we could see GM Chuck Fletcher finally commit to a much-needed rebuild if this kind of collapse continues. One player who the Flyers should consider shopping is Kevin Hayes.

At this juncture, Hayes' trade value is arguably at its highest. The 30-year-old is having a fantastic season when it comes to his offensive numbers, as he has six goals and 22 points in 22 contests. As a result, the chances of teams being interested in him and his hefty $7,142,857 cap hit are likely higher, and the Flyers would be wise to take advantage of this.

Hayes is under contract until the end of the 2025-26 season and carries a 12-team no-trade list. It is unlikely that the Flyers will be contenders by the time this contract reaches its conclusion, so perhaps now is the time to shop the top-six center. Alas, let's see if the Flyers do just that from here.
