NHL Rumors: Kraken & Canucks Emerging as Possible Trading Partners

The Seattle Kraken have been excellent during their second season in the NHL thus far. At the time of this writing, they have a 14-5-3 record and are well on their way to playing postseason hockey this spring. However, after their 9-8 overtime win over the Los Angeles Kings, it's clear that they could use a shutdown defenseman. Thus, perhaps Vancouver Canucks defenseman Luke Schenn could be on their radar.

Schenn is a pending UFA, and the Canucks will are likely to trade him if they do not sign him to an extension before the deadline. This is because they currently have a 9-11-2 record and their playoff hopes are not looking too hot. With Schenn having a strong season, it does not seem out of the question that they will move him with his trade value at its highest point.

Schenn would be a great veteran for Seattle to add as they gear up for what could be their first playoff appearance. In 23 games this season, he has two goals, six assists, a plus-10 rating, and 97 hits.
