NHL Rumors: Nashville Predators to Shop Goalie

At this point of the season, the Nashville Predators have a 9-9-2 record and are in danger of falling out of the playoff race. If they are unable to turn things around as the year progresses, they will surely be sellers at the deadline. One pending UFA who definitely could be moved in this scenario is Kevin Lankinen.

After a disastrous 2021-22 season with the Chicago Blackhawks, Lankinen inked a one-year deal with the Predators this offseason. So far, he has been a strong addition to the Preds. Although he has a 2-3-0 record in six appearances, he also sports a strong .922 SV% and 2.50 GAA. Needless to say, he has down his job keeping Nashville in games, but goal support has not been coming his way.

Teams looking to strengthen up their goaltending could consider the prospect of acquiring Lankinen at the deadline. We will have to wait and see what happens with the 27-year-old from here.
