NHL Rumors: Rangers & Oilers Becoming Possible Trade Partners

In a recent article for Daily Faceoff, NHL insider Frank Seravalli noted that New York Rangers forward Ryan Reaves could be made available for trade. The enforcer has been healthy scratched as of late, and the Rangers are reportedly not looking for much in return to gain more cap space. Teams looking for more toughness could surely make a push for the winger, and Seravalli named the Edmonton Oilers as a possible landing spot.

The Oilers' bottom six certainly could use a bit of jolt. Although Reaves does not offer much in terms of offense, his immensely physical style of play and grit could make him a great addition to their fourth line. Furthermore, he could serve as a protector for Oilers superstars Connor McDavid and Leon Drasaitl.

Reaves to Edmonton is an intriguing thought, and we will have to wait and see if they end up doing business with the Rangers. In 12 games this season, the 6-foot-2 winger has zero points and 44 hits.
