NHL Rumors: Washington Capitals Winger Becoming Trade Candidate

After an embarrassing 5-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Sunday (Nov. 27), the Washington Capitals have fallen to a 9-11-3 record. For a team who headed into the season as contenders, this is unacceptable. If they do not turn things around quickly, they will be sellers at the deadline. In this scenario, Sonny Milano would be one of their many trade candidates.

The Capitals signed Milano to a one-year deal at the beginning of the season. It was surprising that the 26-year-old winger had to wait a while to find a new home, as he just had a 34-point campaign in 66 games with the Anaheim Ducks in 2021-22. So far, he has also been a success for the Capitals, as he has three goals and seven points in 11 games.

Teams looking for some secondary scoring should consider the prospect of making a push to acquire Milano at the deadline. He only carries a $750,000 cap hit as well, so expect him to garner interest from contenders.
