Rangers Need To Call Flyers About Trade For Forward

The New York Rangers have not been the dominant team they were last season. They sit two points out of a playoff spot and have lost three games in a row. After Ryan Reaves was traded, the lack of toughness on their roster is really showing. This is why they should look to the Philadelphia Flyers for a more productive tough guy to replace the hole Reaves left.

In 12 games with the Rangers this season, Reaves failed to record a point, only recorded three shots, played under 8:30 a game, but made 44 hits. The player the Rangers should bring in from the Flyers is Zack MacEwen who has much better stats and is more effective than Reaves.

MacEwen has three goals and seven points in 21 games this season and has been a third line player for the Flyers. The team is very banged up so he is able to be elevated up the lineup. But he is taking full advantage and not straying away from the way he plays the game. He has 40 shots but has made 77 hits already while having fought a few times. He would be a fourth line player for the Rangers, but an upgrade to who they have now. They need to find something to help them be tougher to play against for the regular season and hopefully the playoffs.
