San Jose Sharks Make Roster Moves

The San Jose Sharks have made some changes to their roster. Radim Simek has been placed on injured reserve, while Nick Cicek has been called up to the NHL squad.

Simek is a mainstay in the Sharks' defensive group, so losing him is not ideal. In 17 games on the year thus far, he has a goal to go along with a minus-8 rating. This IR placement is not all that surprising, however, as he left Sunday's game early after taking a big hit from Minnesota Wild forward Mason Shaw.

Cicek, on the other hand, will be hoping to make his NHL debut during this call-up. The 6-foot-3 defenseman joined the Sharks organization last year and recorded 25 points in 53 games with the San Jose Barracuda. In 10 games this year with the Barracuda, he has yet to record a point.
