San Jose Sharks Place Defenseman on Waivers

For the second time this season, the San Jose Sharks have placed Scott Harrington on waivers.

Due to the fact that Harrington has been on the Sharks' active roster for more than a month, he has to clear waivers to head back to the AHL. That may not necessarily be guaranteed, however, as several teams are dealing with injury trouble and Harrington carries an easily affordable $750,000 cap hit at the NHL level. With that, his contract is a two-way deal.

Teams looking for a depth defenseman with plenty of NHL experience could look to claim Harrington. In 212 career NHL games, the 29-year-old has seven goals, 32 assists, and 39 points.
